Design students develop cradle of the future “for electric vehicles our mobility will fundamentally change: the EU assumes that we will be only electric car in the European cities on the road in the year 2050, other studies predict the total market penetration of electric vehicles earlier. Against this background, the Fraunhofer IAO and its project partner Langmatz GmbH in the winter semester 2011/2012 host a high school competition on the subject of charging stations of the future. Students in the areas of industrial design, industrial design, transportation design and integral studies develop innovative (design) solutions for sustainable charging stations in two categories. In the competition, the design of charging stations, as well as the concepts of energy transfer and the use of value added are rethought and designed.
